About SIGM

Stanford's Summer Institute for General Management (SIGM) is a four-week residential program for exceptional college students who major in non-business fields. Taught by Stanford MBA faculty, SIGM participants learn business and management fundamentals, develop resume writing, interviewing, and public speaking skills, engage with business and non-profit leaders, and connect with talented peers from around the world.

SIGM generally runs from mid-June to mid-July. Application deadlines have typically been during winter quarter.

Funding Opportunity

HUMANITIES AND ARTS MAJORS ARE NOW ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING TO ATTEND SIGM THROUGH SUPPORT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT.

Current seniors, juniors, and sophomores who have declared their major in a humanities or arts department will be considered for this funding. Students in selected Interdepartmental Programs may be considered as well. Upon acceptance to the program, eligible students will receive information about the amount of the fee that funding will cover (up to the entire program fee of $10,750 based on the student's academic year Financial Aid profile). The program fee includes accommodations, meals, and course materials.
