Accepting Credit Cards for Event Registration

Introduction

The Office of the Treasurer has contracted with a validated PCI Level 1 Application Service Provider (ASP), Certain Registration, to make available to Stanford departments an event site hosting and registration management software solution.

Departments interested in using Certain should contact the Office of the Treasurer to request a Certain account.

Departments must go through CCMS to obtain Stanford's negotiated pricing for Certain Meetings.

To add a new User to an existing Certain subaccount email the name and SUNetID of the new user to merchants@stanford.edu.

Track your Revenue & Fees

The CCMS team journal's all credit card revenue/fees from Certain.com to your Stanford PTA on a monthly basis.

You will use the Monthly Activity Report in Certain and ReportMart 3 to track your credit card revenue and fees for your Certain Meetings account.

Are departments charged a per registrant fee for a free event?
The per registrant fee is charged for both paid and free events that use Certain.com. Below are two alternatives to Certain for free events—please note that CCMS does not explicitly endorse, or provide support for, either of the two alternatives listed below:
The Stanford Web Forms Service enables Stanford community members to create simple contact forms, short surveys, polls, etc. http://www.stanford.edu/services/webforms/

Eventbrite.com: Eventbrite is an easy to use online events management system. There is currently no cost to using Eventbrite for free events. Eventbrite may not be used by Stanford departments for the creation of paid events.
