Scientific Books That Bill Gates Thinks Everyone Should Read

On his popular books blog, Gates describes doctor and Pulitzer Prize–winning author Siddhartha Mukherjee as “the perfect person to guide us through the past, present, and future of genome science. … He is also a beautiful storyteller.”

As one of the most succinct and provocative takes on how Homo sapiens came to rule, Harari’s book has dominated many reading lists. Gates spent many weeks discussing the book with his wife, especially since, as he wrote on his blog, he didn’t agree with all the arguments.

Eradicating malaria has been one of the Gates Foundation’s biggest priorities, so it’s no surprise to find this book on Gate’s recommendation list. Gates included this on a list specifically designed to educate about deadly diseases.
