Here is footage from the night they showed racing from Raceway Park which was located in Blue Island, IL. I'm posting the Late Model Trophy Dash from that evening. Fastest 8 cars for 12 laps. First two were won by Bobby Dotter and then 3rd went to Dennis Perzley. 1977 was Dotter's rookie season in Late Model competition and he shows guys like Jerry Kemperman, Bud Koehler, Wayne Para, Bob Strait and Frank Gawlinski the fast way around the tiny 1/4 oval.

Dan Colyer wanted to honor former Raceway Park announcer Wayne Adams for his 42 years behind the microphone. What started out as a small surprise party turned into 100 guests that all appreciated the effort Wayne put forth and respected him. When you look up "class act" in the dictionary there should be a picture of Wayne.
After presenting him with an award, Wayne said some words to the crowd. I only got about 15 minutes of footage before my memory stick got full but I wanted to post the two segments I recorded. -

For all you local race fans that's Craig Amptmeyer in the yellow #40 car. This was a qualifying heat. Shows me finishing 5th but I got 4th after a car broke out on the last lap.
