Aria is a multi-media storyteller who has lived primarily between Richmond, Virginia and Israel. She has worked in Israel, Palestine, Southern Africa and the U.S. to capture stories featuring subjects such as fishermen on the shores of Lake Tanganika and time travelling donkeys. Her first sixteen-minute documentary about prostitution was selected for screening at the Israeli Parliament in 2012 as a part of an effort to change laws on prostitution and human trafficking in the nation. She has a B.A. in interdisciplinary studies from Wheaton College where she combined sociology, communication, and English to study how stories can motivate social action. Her senior thesis focused on building a sociological imagination in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through reconciliation narratives. Aria is currently pursuing an MFA in Documentary Film & Video from Stanford University.
