Lyntoria Newton is a first year student in the Documentary Film and Video MFA program here at Stanford. She holds a B.A. from Hampshire College where she constructed a course of study that included film, media, journalism, and African diasporic studies. She explored interest in norms of race, sexuality, and Western standards of beauty through her senior thesis films, A Feast for the Manand Other(ed) Spaces.She co-produced the tour guide, a short film about a London tourguide with aspirations to be an actor and worked on post-production for Summers with Helen,a documentary about Elaine Mayes and her summer vacations with the late street photographer Helen Levitt. She has produced content for outlets such as The Boston Globe, PBA30, The Atlanta University Center, Atlanta Public Schools and others.
