Schubertiade: An Evening of Music by Franz Schubert

Saturday, March 5, 2016 - 8:00pm to 9:45pm
Campbell Recital Hall

Free; no advance registration required.

Presented by Ben Simon and the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra All-Stars Schubertiade (n.): a gathering of aficionados of the music of Franz Peter Schubert, featuring performances of the Viennese composer’s works. On March 5, join our modern-day Schubertiade to hear the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra All-Stars play two of his chamber music masterworks: a string trio and the ever-popular Trout Quintet, written for the unusual combination of violin, viola, cello, double bass, and piano. Our Schubertiade will feature a short presentation by host Ben Simon on Schubert’s life and times, as well as a discussion of the music to be presented.
