For the 13th consecutive year, an amazing group of Stanford writers will be discussing their recently published books. Each author will make a brief presentation and be available for conversation and book signing.

The authors who are scheduled to present include: Sasha Abramsky (The House of Twenty Thousand Books), Prudence Breitrose (Mouse Mission), Jindong Cai and Sheila Melvin (Beethoven in China), Robert Crews (Afghan Modern), Adrian Daub and Charles Kronengold (The James Bond Songs), Edith Gelles (editor, Abigail Adams: Letters), Albert Gelpi (American Poetry after Modernism: The Power of the Word), Robert Gregg (Shared Stories, Rival Tellings), Charlotte Jacobs (Jonas Salk: A Life), Susan Krieger (Come, Let Me Guide You: A Life Shared with a Guide Dog), Aishwary Kumar (Radical Equality), Hilton Obenzinger (How We Write), Margaret O’Mara (Pivotal Tuesdays), Jessica Riskin (The Restless Clock), Bernard Roth (The Achievement Habit), James J. Sheehan (co-editor, The Second Generation), Matthew Sommer (Polyandry and Wife-Selling in Qing Dynasty China), Elizabeth Tallent (Mendocino Fire), Barbara Wilcox (World War I Army Training by San Francisco Bay), Alex Woloch (Or Orwell), and Marilyn Yalom and Theresa Donovan Brown (The Social Sex: A History of Female Friendship).

This program is hosted by Peter Stansky, Field Professor of History, Emeritus, Stanford. Drop in, or even better, indulge yourself by spending the entire afternoon in the company of these bright, entertaining, and stimulating writers. At the event, the Stanford Bookstore will sell books at a 10 percent discount, and authors will sign copies. Please note, the schedule is subject to change. Light refreshments will be served.
