Teaching Quality

Although the No Child Left Behind Act of 2002 included the historic provision that states should guarantee access to high quality teachers for all students, the distribution of such teachers is extremely inequitable across the United States. Less qualified teachers are significantly overrepresented in schools that serve minority and low-income students. SCOPE’s work investigates policy and practice strategies that are most effective in ensuring that all children have access to high quality teachers.
