The Precourt Institute for Energy (PIE) Summer Undergraduate Program on Energy Research (SUPER) aims to provide undergraduates with opportunities to work on faculty-mentored and individualized energy research during the summer. Undergraduates will have a chance to delve deeply into one aspect of energy research, while also gaining exposure to energy research across Stanford University. The program is designed to inspire students to consider energy as a field of study at Stanford and to prepare them to engage as professionals in solving this real world challenge.

 

Program Features:

  • Conduct energy research at Stanford with a Stanford faculty member
  • Faculty and Energy Research Mentors
  • Stipend of $6,400 for a 10-week summer term with dates June 14 - August 20, 2016
  • Weekly seminar showcasing a range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary energy research. Faculty will present their research as well as personal stories for why they decided to pursue research in the energy field
  • Field trips to energy companies
  • Mid-summer social
  • Student presentation of research at one or more of the following events:

    • Symposia of Undergraduate Research and Public Service (SURPS)
    • SUPER student poster session following an Energy Seminar
    • PIE Advisory Council meeting
