Program Overview

The Chinese Undergraduate Visiting Research (UGVR) Program is aimed at building understanding between U.S. and Chinese students and between Stanford and top Chinese universities by attracting top Chinese undergraduate students to Stanford to work with faculty and students on research in the summer. By being part of the UGVR cohort, Chinese students will learn from and enhance Stanford undergraduate and graduate students' experience with a diverse, international population, broadening the perspective of both groups.

Interested Stanford School of Engineering faculty submit research position descriptions and required skills/background in the Fall. The partner Chinese univerities recruit and pre-select top candidates among junior students. The faculty then make final decisions about accepting candidates from partner Chinese universities including Tsinghua, Peking University, University of Science and Technology of China, and National Taiwan University.

Eligibility

All Academic Council Faculty in the School of Engineering are invited to apply.
