Handa Center student intern in the office in Cambodia

Building on a decade and a half of international work in the following areas, the Center harnesses Stanford’s exceptional resources and opportunities to strengthen existing programs and engage in new, innovative approaches to advance human rights and international justice in the U.S. and globally. Wherever possible, we engage Stanford students in the programs we run in order to enhance their educational experience and better prepare them for human rights-related career pathways after college.

The Handa Center pursues its mission through a range of international programs in four major areas:

Applied Research and Policy Advocacy

International Education and Training

Digital Archival Resource Development

Civil Society Engagement
