Friday, May 22: Mobile Device Management change creates problems
This morning, the Stanford Mobile Device Management Support Team made configuration changes to the AirWatch e-mail configuration profile. We expected this change to affect at most 350 AirWatch users (who were notified in advance). However, when we made the change this morning, it appears that a large portion of AirWatch users were affected.
The effect of the change caused their email / calendar / contacts to disappear and prompted them to re-enter their Stanford password and reload all data. Because of the data syncing load, general email access is also slower than normal.
No data will be lost, but it will take time for the calendar, email and contacts to reload on mobile devices, and for email performance to return to normal.
We apologize for this unanticipated disruption to our normal service.
