The Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) sponsors visas and privileges at Stanford University Libraries for senior scholars conducting research on Latin America. Visiting Scholars are selected through a competitive process on the basis of academic qualifications, the quality of research plans, and the relevance of both to the Center's mission and objectives. CLAS welcomes applications from visiting scholars from around the world, and over the years has hosted visitors from Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe and the US.
Visiting Scholar appointments do not include financial assistance and office facilities at CLAS are only available as space allows. Inquiries and applications are considered throughout the year.
