Stanford R&DE’s Finance & Administration (F&A) division consists of a dedicated team, involved in numerous projects, across all R&DE departments, in support of the motto that is central to R&DE and always on our minds—students (customers) first!


  • Serves as the gatekeeper for R&DE’s operating budget
  • Leads R&DE annual capital budgeting process
  • Manages annual room and board rate setting process
  • Provides long-range and strategic planning
  • Acts as liaison to other University departments (Controllers Office, UBO, etc.)
  • Ensures consistent application of business practices throughout R&DE
  • Provides accounting, financial and management support to R&DE divisions
  • Leads and communicates University financial systems implementation for R&DE
  • Coordinates all aspects of vendor relationships including assessing potential vendors, negotiating contracts, purchasing goods and services and managing ongoing vendor relationships
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures
  • Oversees the maintenance, construction and renovation of 5 million sq. ft. of residential and dining physical plant across the campus
