Bassem Eid was born in Jordanian-occupied east Jerusalem. He founded and currently heads the Palestinian Human Rights Monitoring Group, a non-partisan group which serves to record human rights violations committed against Palestinians. It advocates for a free, democratic Palestine. Bassem is an expert on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency and a critic of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement that targets Israel. He has been attacked and jailed for his activism. Come hear Bassem speak about his remarkable achievements as a human rights activist, as well as the challenges he faced along the way.
