At Stanford Health Care, we are committed to providing an exceptional experience to every patient, every time. As part of that commitment, SHC now posts our physicians’ patient satisfaction ratings online. All ratings are submitted by actual patients and verified by a leading company in the patient satisfaction industry.
Who receives the survey?
The Medical Practice survey is mailed or emailed to randomly selected Stanford Health Care patients within a few days following their clinic appointment. Patients are asked to complete the survey and provide comments regarding specific aspects of care. We use this feedback to improve the clinic experience. Our goal is to provide each patient with an exceptional experience. Each year we obtain feedback from more than 20,000 patients who receive care in our outpatient clinics.
Are all comments posted?
We collect comments from the Care Provider section of the survey. Both positive and negative comments are posted, with these exceptions:
- Offensive, slanderous, or profane language
- Names or detailed descriptions that jeopardize patient privacy/confidentiality
- Comments about other providers, departments or instances of care
Why don't we see patient ratings and comments for every doctor?
Some sites offer only a few doctor reviews. At Stanford Health Care, we believe more data provides a more accurate picture. That’s why we require a minimum of 30 patient surveys per doctor before we post a doctor’s rating. Over time, the number of rated physicians will increase.
