Super Bowl 50 is coming to the Bay Area! The game, which pits the Denver Broncos against the Carolina Panthers, will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Feb. 7. More than one million tourists are expected to be in the area, so be prepared for regional transportation impacts.

Parking impacts on campus throughout the week

The Denver Broncos will be using Stanford athletic facilities for their practices Feb. 1 through Feb. 6. All practices will be closed to the public. Please expect the following parking changes during this time.

  • Commuter, visitor and event parking will be closed in 72 spaces at the eastern end of the Varsity Lot (L-97). [Map]
  • Seven ‘A’ parking spaces in the Maples Lot (L-93), including bus spaces, will also be reserved for the NFL. [Map]
  • ‘A’ and ‘C’ permit holders will be allowed to park in the Galvez Lot (L-96) as an alternative. [Map]

Caltrain impacts throughout the week

Starting Jan. 30, Caltrain will increase service to meet anticipated increases in ridership due to the Super Bowl and related events that will be held along the Peninsula the week prior to the game. Even with increased service, Caltrain is advising passengers to expect trains that are significantly more crowded than normal and to be prepared for delays.

Visit Caltrain’s Super Bowl page for more information about the service changes.

If you are going to the game

If you are going to the game, please be aware that there will be heightened security on public transit. For those planning to take VTA Light Rail from Mountain View to the Super Bowl, please note that Super Bowl ticket holders must use VTA’s mobile fare app, EventTIK, to get to Levi’s Stadium.

Visit VTA’s Super Bowl 50 Service page for route and schedule information.
