Before you begin
Create a Google Apps password
If you have not yet created a Google Apps password, go to tools.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/google-pass and do this before adding your Stanford Google Apps account to your Blackberry. You can use the same password for your mobile device and a desktop client.
Enable IMAP in Google Mail
See Enabling IMAP for instructions..
Configuring your Blackberry
To add your Stanford Google Apps account to your Blackberry::
- Go to the Setup screen and select Personal Email Setup.
- If you are prompted to log in, enter the user name and password you use to access your account on your service provider's website.
- Select Add.
- Select Gmail.
- For your Email address, enter your Sunet ID@stanford.edu.
- For your Password, enter your Google Apps password.
- An "Invalid email address or password" message is displayed. Select OK.
- Select I will provide the settings.
- On the Email Settings form, enter the following information:
- Select POP/IMAP
- Email address: sunet_id@stanford.edu
- Password: your Google Apps password
- Email server: imap.gmail.com
- User name: sunet_id@stanford.edu
- Select Next.
