Woods in Washington, D.C.
Decision-makers need relevant, credible science that is understandable and actionable to make critical choices about the future of our planet. Woods representation in Washington, D.C., allows our faculty and scholars to play a greater role in providing this vital scientific research to policy- and decision-makers in government, non-profits, think tanks and other organizations. The office is a primary vehicle for connecting our latest environmental findings to the policy community, enabling Woods to serve as an important resource.
Through the D.C. office, Woods scholars work with national and international policymakers to advance solutions to environmental challenges and develop strong environmental leaders for today and the future. Woods is working to link knowledge to action in the nation’s capital and beyond by: convening public panels and roundtables; partnering with NGOs and think tanks to address important environmental issues; organizing one-on-one meetings and briefings between Woods experts and policy-makers; and providing content to blogs and research outlets that target and serve the Washington policy community.
