Carlotta Glatzel

Carlotta has a passion for pediatric healthcare — she previously worked in a children’s hospital and a home for children with cancer in Germany and Peru. Prior to attending Stanford GSB, she worked for a healthcare startup and McKinsey & Company in Berlin.

IDIF Focus

Carlotta is focusing on mental health for children and adolescents — 50% of mental diseases start before the age of 14 and 75% before the age of 24. She strives to increase access to mental health resources and therapies for children and adolescents in Germany. Effective solutions for this underserved and vulnerable population are key for sustainable impact on the mental health crisis.

Shawon Jackson

Shawon is passionate about social justice education and youth leadership development. After graduating from Princeton, he worked at an education nonprofit in the Dominican Republic. Afterward, he worked at Deloitte Consulting, supporting public and social sector organizations. Currently, Shawon is a dual-degree student between Stanford GSB and Harvard Kennedy School.

IDIF Focus

Shawon is building a new venture, Vocal Justice, whose mission is to empower undervalued Black and Brown youth to become socially conscious leaders through a culturally affirming public speaking program. Listen to Shawon explain why we need to teach public speaking with a critical lens.

Sarah Jacobson

Sarah Jacobson and Tori Seidenstein

Tori and Sarah are passionate about improving the lives of older adults, inspired by both of their grandpas. Tori was a software engineer on Facebook’s public health team. Sarah was previously a Product Manager at Square and Stride Health, a health insurance startup backed by Venrock and NEA. They teamed up in the beginning of their first year at the Stanford GSB to build a company that radically improves the physical and financial health of older adults.

IDIF Focus

FairStreet helps people 65+ navigate the massive complexity of Medicare enrollment. Today, someone turning 65 has to choose from an average of 57 different plan combinations, and the decision has dire health and financial consequences. After conducting 150+ interviews, they learned that legacy Medicare enrollment systems are broken and consumers feel disempowered and taken advantage of. With FairStreet, members can learn about their options, get a tailored plan recommendation, and enroll digitally in minutes. We save our members money and improve their confidence to navigate the healthcare system.

Jennifer Ouyang

Jennifer Ouyang

Jennifer is passionate about enabling people to lead lives with dignity. Most recently, she connected the country’s largest education systems with digital prevention training on substance abuse, sexual assault, mental health, and other intractable issues. Prior, she worked on a coaching platform to make executive career coaching accessible and affordable. Jennifer earned her psychology bachelor’s degree from Amherst College.

IDIF Focus

Jennifer will explore cultural and generational dynamics that impact wellbeing and mental health in first-generation and immigrant families. She will focus on identifying environments that foster connection and barriers that prevent mental healthcare access.

Charles Stone

Charles Stone

Charles is an MS/MBA candidate who is passionate about clean energy and climate change mitigation. He previously worked for Fenix International, an off-grid solar company based in Kampala, Uganda, and Boston Consulting Group in New York. Charles was born and raised in Hong Kong.

IDIF Focus

Charles is exploring technology, business model, and financing opportunities to accelerate global reforestation efforts, with an initial focus on Indonesia. Research suggests reforestation has the potential to sequester up to two-thirds of humanity’s cumulative carbon emissions.
