Planned Road Construction Detours at Foothill Expressway on April 4 and April 5

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF. – As part of the Loyola Bridge Widening Project in Los Altos, Foothill Expressway will receive a micro-surface paving from April 4 to April 5.   As a result, on Monday, Loyola Drive and Miramonte Avenue exits will be closed to exiting traffic at 8:00 a.m. southbound and 9:00 a.m. northbound.  Both exits will re-open to traffic at midnight on April 5.  Detours are recommended as follows:

• Southbound traffic exiting Loyola Drive and Miramonte Avenue exit will continue south to St. Joseph Avenue and return on Granger Avenue.

• Northbound traffic exiting Loyola Drive and Miramonte Avenue exit will continue north to Magdalena Avenue/Springer Road intersection and return on Springer Road.

All traffic crossing Loyola Drive to Foothill Expressway will be directed to use Granger Avenue to go south.  Traffic going north will be directed to use Frontero Avenue and Fremont Avenue to Springer Road.

Micro-surface paving is a preventive maintenance treatment that extends the life of the road surface in an economical way, while causing the least amount of inconvenience to residents and the traveling public while the work is taking place.

Electronic message signs are currently posted on site to remind residents of the upcoming road construction project and necessary updates to motorists.
Motorists’ understanding and patience are greatly appreciated. For weekly construction updates on County expressways and bridges, please visit www.sccgov.org/sites/rda/.
