The Hoover Institution in Washington is a branch office equipped to execute the two core functions of the Institution itself: policy research and outreach. Its purpose is to promote the academic work of Hoover fellows and to facilitate the engagement of fellows in the policy conversations that take place in the nation’s capital.

In addition to accommodating Hoover fellows visiting from California, the office hosts groups of scholars engaging in research initiatives, conferences, seminars, and events of featuring or involving Hoover fellows and their work, including book launches. Outreach staff work with prospective audiences for the scholarship of Hoover fellows: the media, government, think tanks and other policy organizations.
