HONOLULU - For the second straight evening, the 15th-ranked Stanford men's volleyball team was swept on the road at top-ranked Hawai'i, 25-16, 25-12, 25-17, Saturday, at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
Stanford (10-16) now sits a half a game back of UCLA for the eighth and final MPSF playoff spot at 7-13. The Cardinal and Bruins will meet on The Farm on Friday, April 17.
Junior Madison Hayden was the only Cardinal player to register double-digit kills (12) against the Rainbow Warriors. Stanford utilized its 17th different starting lineup of the season Saturday night.
Twelve different Cardinal players took the court against Hawai'i. Redshirt sophomore Gabriel Vega, a Kailua, Hawai'i native, totaled seven kills and six digs.
Hawai'i, which was led by senior middle blocker Taylor Averill (9-0-11), hit .408 as a team, while collecting 13.0 team blocks. Stanford was held to a .033 attack percentage, it's lowest of the season.
