STANFORD, Calif. – No. 9 Stanford travels to Evanston, Illinois, this weekend to take on No. 14 Northwestern and No. 16 Michigan in two nonconference matchups.
The Cardinal (8-3, 1-1 America East) will face the Wildcats (9-4, 2-2 Big 10) at Lakeside Field on Friday at 1 p.m. (PT). Stanford takes on Michigan (9-3, 3-1 Big 10) at the same location on Sunday at 10 a.m.
The Cardinal earned its first conference win as a member of the America East this past weekend, a 2-1 victory at UC Davis.
Stanford’s most recent matchup against Northwestern came on Oct. 10, 2014. Maddie Secco scored in the 63rd minute to seal a 2-1 victory for the Cardinal against the No. 8 Wildcats.
Two days later, Stanford beat No. 14 Michigan 2-1 in overtime. Lauren Becker scored in the first overtime period to give the seventh-ranked Cardinal a 14-1 record.
Senior midfielder Maddie Secco leads the Cardinal in goals (5, tied with Lauren Becker), assists (7) and points (17). Senior goalkeeper Dulcie Davies ranks second in the nation with a .818 save percentage and sixth in goals-against average (1.25).
