(BILL DALLY/stanfordphoto.com) Freshman Kat Klass continued her strong debut season, notching 5 goals, a career-high and the most of any Cardinal player this season. Klass ranks second on the team in scoring with 23 total goals, behind junior Jamie Neushul’s 26. Neushul recorded a hat trick in the matchup against the Spartans along with junior Dani Jackovich. This win also marked the 40th straight for the team in MPSF regular-season play, a statistic that underscores the strength of the program in the last few seasons. The Cardinal controlled the game from the opening buzzer, outscoring the Spartans by at least three points in every quarter. The final scoreline was the product of a team effort, with nine different Stanford players recording goals. The Cardinal also had a solid day defensively, with junior goalkeeper Julia Hermann making 10 saves in the cage, ensuring that the momentum stayed firmly in the Cardinal’s hands. The team next takes on UC San Diego on Sunday at noon.
