The Global Projects Center was created to confront the cross-sector, interdisciplinary challenges faced by groups and individuals developing, owning, and operating modern critical infrastructure. Infrastructure investments today require owners, developers, and investors to manage and design technically and organizationally complex project teams, raise capital from varying sources in a rapidly changing financial landscape, and operate across global stakeholder and policy environments.
While these problems are complex, our goal remains simple – to improve the way we invest in critical infrastructure. Our research objectives this year reflect our multidisciplinary approach – cutting across departments at Stanford and key players within the industry – from financial institutions to service providers and policy makers.
This year our research efforts are focused along four broad themes – topic areas that we feel will be centers of change within this industry in the coming years.
