No, that's exactly the sort of representative first hand experience that should presented to parliament during a debate, and why women and minorities should be represented there.

Too often it's some grey haired middle aged man recalling the comments of his constituents.

I'd also disagree on Parliament making a pigs ear of democracy, it's the government/cabinet riding roughshod over the sovereignty of Parliament to decide matters we've given them a mandate for.

Our system needs an overhaul

+da H maybe but when there are more homeless EU nationals than all the economic and real refugee's in the EU counties. Well its shameful how little attention and resources being expended to deal with that.

After all, if the EU is unable or unwilling even to deal with the homeless European nationals then why should they focus upon queue jumpers from outside the EU who have passed thru many safe countries!
