Get Ready to "Give & Go"

Save time while helping the local community and reducing waste! R&DE Student Housing has partnered with Goodwill to make it easy for you to "Give" your unwanted clothing and household items that are in good condition to others who can use them as you move out and "Go" on to your next adventure!

The items you drop off at one of over 100 convenient barrels or trailers in or near your residence will serve hundreds of local people in need through Goodwill while reducing waste sent to the landfill. Find out what you can donate here. Make sure to take the larger items (mattresses, futons, mini fridges, etc.) to your nearest Give & Go Zone (turquoise pins on map above). Borrow a dolly at your Housing Front Desk for easy transport!

Give & Go Kickoff Event!

On Thursday June 5 from 12-2pm, join us to celebrate the launch of Give & Go move-out! This will be the very first day you can donate goods to Give & Go. The first 25 visitors to pledge and donate at the Kick-Off Events will get a free Kara's mini cupcake! Find details and updates on Give & Go on our Facebook event, and check out the map above to find your nearest Kick-Off Event (pink pins).

Pledge to "Give & Go"

Commit to donate your unwanted items by pledging and spread the word to your friends. Take the Give & Go pledge , join our Facebook event and celebrate at a Kick-Off Event near you and you'll be entered into a raffle to win one of ten $50 Stanford Bookstore or Starbucks gift cards - you're choice. Pledge here now!  

These “thank you” prizes are sponsored by the Office of Sustainability, in recognition of your support of a more Sustainable Stanford. Last year’s Give & Go participants diverted over 97,000 lbs of reusable materials from the landfill. With your help, Stanford hopes to divert even more to those in need!

Give & Go!

You've pledged to donate, celebrated at the Kick-Off Event, invited your friends to the Facebook event, and gathered your items. Now it's time to "Give & Go". Simply drop off your items at your local donation site listed above.

Other Donation Events

Are you a staff member who has unwanted items to donate? We are collaborating with the Black Staff Alliance to promote their clothing and shoe drive during Give & Go. Please see their flyer here for more info.

Drop off unwanted textbooks at your local Dining Hall between June 5th - 13th. Book donations go to Alpha Phi Omega, a national coeducational service organization, and Better World Books, a company that collects and donates books to fund literacy initiatives.
