The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is a three-year plan that describes the goals, actions, services, and expenditures to support positive student outcomes that address state and local priorities. The LCAP provides an opportunity for PAUSD to share our story of how, what, and why programs and services are selected to meet our local needs.

  • 5:00-7:00pm,  District Office, SDC

On December 14 from 5:00pm-7:00pm all stakeholders are invited to participate in a discussion about the California Dashboard data. The California Dashboard contains reports that display the performance of local educational agencies (LEAs), schools, and student groups on a set of state and local measures to assist in identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas in need of improvement.

It is an opportunity for stakeholders to provide feedback to the Palo Alto Unified LCAP team as the district begins to create goals for 2018-19 LCAP.

November 1st, Wednesday

The District will begin to update Local Control and Accountability Plan as required by the California Department of Education. Development of the plan includes representatives from our key stakeholders. Last year organizations sent representatives who participated in this process and developed the 17-18 LCAP Plan.  We will begin the process for 17-18 in November.  At this meeting we will share goals and metrics of 17-18 plan and solicit feedback on goals, actions and measurements as we began to develop the 2018-19 plan.

For the first time in more than 40 years, California school districts have the flexibility to prioritize resources in order to meet the specific needs of our unique student populations.  Under this new framework, referred to as the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), our district must create an Accountability Plan that meets the educational priorities of our community.

During the months of March and April, there was a series of engagement opportunities for community members to share what they believe should be the district’s highest priorities for student success.

2019-2020 LCAP Planning Process Information

A key aspect of the LCAP process is the engagement of parents/guardians in providing input and feedback. This is facilitated through the formation of a District Advisory Committee (DAC). The LCAP DAC, along with the District English Language Advisory Committee, will meet to review the LCAP and provide ongoing input into the monitoring and revision of the LCAP. The following meeting dates have been scheduled for this year:

Each of these meetings will be held from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the PAUSD District Offices.
