Stravinsky publicity card

Mr. Stravinsky, will you be my Valentine?

The ASSU concert series procures Igor Stravinsky to perform alongside violinist Samuel Dushkin. The 1934/1935 season brochure conveys the significance of Stravinsky’s presence on campus: “Seldom has it been the privilege of American audiences to listen to the greatest of all contemporary composers. His ‘L’Oiseau de Feu’ (The Firebird), ‘Le Sacre du Printemps’ (The Rite of Spring), and other symphonic music already ensure him a place among the immortals. With him will be Samuel Dushkin, the great violinist.”
