The CIFE Community was well represented at the Sino-US Symposium on Practices, Challenges and Opportunities of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) at Tongji University in Shanghai, China on Oct. 26, 2014. CIFE community members included Atul Khanzode (DPR Construction), Howard Brown (Walt Disney Imagineering), Guangbin Wang (former CIFE visiting scholar from Tongji University), Martin Fischer, Ben Schwegler (Walt Disney Imagineering), Rolando Mendoza (Walt Disney Imagineering), Cheryl Chi (Stanford alumna), Calvin Kam (bimSCORE), Timo Hartmann (CIFE alumnus), and Forest Flager (CIFE).
After a successful initial program in Lima that certified several construction professional in the implementation and use of Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) methods, we are happy to announce a second certification program to be held in the city of Lima. In collaboration with CAPECO (Cámara Peruana de la Construcción) and its BIM Committee, the Introductory Course for this second program is scheduled for 23-27 March 2015. The program is offered for professionals who are local in Lima to foster a strong VDC community there. CIFE hosted a group of construction professionals (owners, architects, engineers, contractors, software providers, academics) from Switzerland for an introduction course on VDC in the week of May 26, 2014.
