Mary Duke Biddle Clinical Scholars Program

Mary Duke Biddle was born in 1887. She came from a philanthropic family and made many individual donations over the course of her life. She established the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation in 1956 to maintain financial support for many causes and organizations she believed in. In 2009, funds were donated to the Stanford School of Medicine to encourage the global health interests of trainees in pediatrics. To date, the program has sent up to 60 physicians and trainees overseas to provide clinical care to children most in need. The Mary Duke Biddle Scholarship is directed by Dr. Saraswati Kache, Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics - Intensive Care at Stanford School of Medicine.

To improve the quality of life of children needing medical care.

Eligibility

Stanford medical students, residents, and fellows are eligible to obtain funding under this program. Selection of applicants will focus on those interested in becoming leaders in the field of global health long term. This scholarship is only open to Stanford students, fellows, and residents.
