Bio
Dr. Linda Boxer obtained her M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at Stanford University. She was an intern and resident in internal medicine at Stanford and then did a hematology/oncology fellowship at Stanford. She joined the faculty at Stanford in the Division of Hematology, Department of Medicine, and also had a position at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Dr. Boxer’s laboratory investigates the mechanisms of deregulated expression of oncogenes by translation into the immunoglobulin locus in B cells lymphomas. She has a clinical practice in hematology with an interest in hematologic malignancies. Since March 2004 she has been the Chief of the Division of Hematology, the director of the Clinical Investigator Pathway (the ABIM research pathway) in the Department of Medicine, and she was the hematology fellowship director for eight years. She has trained and mentored many physicians and physician scientists during this time. Dr. Boxer was the Interim Chair of the Department of Medicine for two years, and she was the Senior Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine for one year. She was appointed Vice Dean of Stanford University School of Medicine in September 2013.
