A conversation with the "happiest man in the world"

Matthieu Ricard, PhD, is often referred to as the “happiest man in the world,” after he participated in a series of research studies several years ago on the effects of meditation on the brain. MRI scans revealed that the left pre-frontal cortex of his brain, which is associated with happiness, experienced off-the-chart levels of positive emotions. The molecular biologist-turned-Buddhist monk and best-selling author is also the Dalai Lama’s French translator, working beside His Holiness since 1989. In this podcast, Ricard shares his thoughts on the meaning of happiness, the power of meditation, and why the world needs altruistic love and compassion now more than ever.
