Science and magic

Many of the brightest minds in academia have extracurricular talents. At Stanford, you’ll find painters, sculptors, musicians, writers… and magicians. Or at least one magician, Parag Mallick, PhD. When he’s not developing computer models to improve cancer detection, Mallick is juggling fire, walking on stilts or mastering card tricks. In this podcast, Mallick talks about how he became a member of a professional performance troupe and the relationship between science and magic. He is an assistant professor of radiology and a member of the Canary Center at Stanford for Cancer Early Detection.
