The Neuroimaging Division of the Department of Radiology at Stanford University is searching for a full-time Clinician Educator at the rank of Clinical Instructor or Clinical Assistant Professor. 

The major criterion for appointment for Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care and clinical teaching appropriate to the programmatic need that the individual is expected to fulfill. The rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. 

The successful candidate will primarily cover evening and late shifts and will also contribute his or her clinical expertise at the Stanford Healthcare inpatient and outpatient sites as well as at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS). Responsibilities will include clinical service, teaching, and scholarly activity. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with and teach medical students, residents, and fellows and lead clinical interdisciplinary conferences. The candidate will be expected to be able to interpret all neuroradiology CT and MRI studies (brain, spine, head & neck) and have or develop fluency with advanced imaging techniques (e.g. perfusion and functional imaging).  As part of clinical obligations, the candidate will participate in the neuroradiology call schedule.  There is the opportunity for candidate-driven initiatives to improve clinical care and engage in collaborative research.  

Candidates must be ABR-certified radiologists who have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship (ideally a two-year fellowship) in Neuroradiology and who have or are eligible for a Certificate of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology. Proficiency with image-guided neuroradiology procedure skills (lumbar puncture, myelography) is expected. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with clinicians, patients, and trainees are required. The Neuroimaging Division at Stanford has leaders in all aspects of neuroradiology, including Interventional Neuroradiology and advanced applications of non-invasive imaging of the brain, spine, and head and neck. The focus of the Neuroimaging Division is to perform clinical neuroradiology at the highest level, to engage in important and novel research, and to train the future leaders in academic neuroradiology.

The Radiologist-in-Chief at LPCH and Division Chief of Pediatric Radiology provides oversight and leadership for the clinical, teaching, and research activities for the pediatric radiology division based at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. Leadership and administrative experience is highly desirable, as the Radiologist-in-Chief at LPCH and Division Chief is responsible for establishing and maintaining high standards of excellence in all areas.  Process improvement experience is also highly desirable, as we strive to continuously innovate processes across the hospital. Current or prior NIH funding in research areas important to Pediatric Radiology are also highly desirable.

The applicant will have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree(s) or equivalent, must be board-certified or eligible in diagnostic radiology, and have completed a formal fellowship in pediatric radiology or equivalent experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record for both clinical and educational achievement in pediatric radiology, and have demonstrated successful executive leadership/management experience in a complex, academic healthcare setting, including leadership and development of high-functioning clinical teams. The successful candidate will participate in clinical activities, teaching, and research in the pediatric radiology program at LPCH.
