Overview

The Stanford University Orthopaedic Spine Surgery Fellowship program is a one-year program in which the spine surgery fellow will obtain a comprehensive experience in adult spinal problems, with an emphasis on diagnostic techniques as well as surgical and non-surgical treatment. Optional experience is also available to treat pediatric deformities at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.  Research is required for completion.

Upon completion, the fellow will be experienced in the multidisciplinary and surgical treatment approach to spinal problems. Fellows will be trained in anterior approaches to the spine, minimally invasive techniques and motion-preserving technology, as well as traditional methods of fusion.

Our inpatient services occur at the Stanford University Medical Center campus in Stanford, California.  Our outpatient services occur at the Stanford Medicine Outpatient Center in Redwood City, California.

The fellow will be involved in teaching residents. Requirements for the fellowship include completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Orthopaedic Surgery and an unrestricted California medical license.
