New Badger Account Registration

Overview

Welcome to SNF! This page describes how to create a Badger account, your key to accessing SNF and the nSiL and MOCVD labs. Once your forms are processed, you'll be notified when your Badger account is activated..

What you will need

  Stanford Non-Stanford
1.Stanford PTA # (University account identified by a 7-10 numbers followed by five letters.) Your Finance Admin will have assigned this on your Labmembership Form. If joining an existing project/purchase order, SNF Lab Services can supply the number. If this is a new project/PO, the University will assign a new PTA#, 3-5 days after paperwork has been submitted.
2. University ID This will be the nine digit number on your Stanford ID card. Not applicable.
3. Email account This is your Stanford University, SUNet ID. The primary email address assigned by your organization (company, university, government research lab, etc.)

 

Registration Instructions

First, you must have Java JRE installed on your desktop or laptop. If you do not have Java, you can get it here.

Go to Badger download. When you start up Badger for the first time, up to two security warning panels will appear. Click "I accept the risk..." and "run" each time. The following login screen will appear:

Click on the "New Member?" button to begin registration.

Stanford Affiliates (student, staff or faculty)

Email: Stanford email (sunetid@stanford.edu)

University ID: The 9-digit number on your Stanford ID.

Account: The PTA that you are authorized to charge your work to.

Advisor: PI.

Phone: Make sure to leave a contact phone number. This information is accessible only by lab staff and will be used only for urgent, lab-related issues.

Non-Stanford Academics and Industry Users:

Enter your work email (myname@mycompany.com)

University ID: Enter “1”

Account: You will be emailed your PTA to enter here.

Advisor: Enter your affiliation/company name.

Phone: Make sure to leave a contact phone number. This information is accessible only by lab staff and will be used only for urgent, lab-related issues.


Select “Set Password” to continue. Your account will then be reviewed and you will receive a notification that your account has been setup. Note: If you do not have it already, you may have to install the Java Runtime Environment. You can find the instructions to do this by visiting our website: http://snf.stanford.edu/labmembers/badger.htm. See Install Java Runtime Environment for instructions for Window or Mac.

Please be aware that use of Badger calls under the Stanford Computer and Network Usage Policy. Once your forms are processed, you will be notified when your Badger account is activated. .
