Data Science @ Stanford recently featured Trevor Hastie as part of its ongoing Distinguished Speaker Seminar Series. Their monthly hour-long format features "thought leaders" from academia, industry, and government who showcase the diversity in applications of the rapidly emerging field of data science, and the evolution of the foundations of data science. Trevor's October 21st talk, titled Statistical Learning with Big Data, garnered tremendous interest and was immediately oversubscribed. Now the video of his presentation has been made available to an expanding virtual community of scholars and practitioners who are interested in data science.
