About the Shuttles
The service is affiliated with the County's Clean Commute Program, a program which provides services and incentives to encourage County employees to leave their cars at home or carpool to work. The shuttles are currently free to the public and Alameda County employees. (Shuttles do not run on County holidays.)
The Fairmont/Juvenile Justice shuttle service was made possible by a $280,000 grant from the Alameda County Congestion Management Authority, which operates separately from the County government. Support for the Embarcadero Cove Shuttle comes from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.
Employee Shuttles
The County also operates two employee-only shuttles. In Oakland, a shuttle launched in October 2009 assists County staff commuting from Lake Merritt and 12th St. BART stations to reach the County headquarters and surrounding offices. In Hayward, a shuttle launched in May 2013 links the Hayward BART station to nearby County offices.
