LATEST Dec. 11, 4:45 p.m. Scott Fisher, 29, of San Francisco appeared in court on Monday afternoon after being arrested Thursday in connection with the killing of his girlfriend, Kimberly Wong, who was 27.

Some of Wong’s friends and family members were in the Hall of Justice at Superior Court in San Francisco during Fisher’s hearing, the San Francisco Standard reported. Fisher was appointed a public defender, Meenha Lee, who told the outlet her office will be representing him “zealously.” Lee’s office did not respond to SFGATE’s request for comment.

Fisher will remain in custody without bail, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office told SFGATE, until his arraignment continues Friday morning. Fisher is being held at the San Francisco County Jail #2 on 7th Street, according to jail records.

Dec. 11, 1:55 p.m. The San Francisco District Attorney’s Office confirmed Monday that the death of a female tech worker at her Presidio Heights apartment is being investigated as an act of domestic violence.

Scott Fisher, 29, was charged with murder in connection with the death of his girlfriend, Kimberly Wong, 27, whom he lived with in an apartment on the 3200 block of Clay Street, the DA’s Office said. Fisher is accused of killing her with a knife, according to the charges filed against him by the DA’s Office.

Wong was found unresponsive in her apartment on Nov. 30 when the San Francisco Police Department conducted a well-being check. After medics and officers attempted life-saving efforts, Wong was pronounced dead at the scene. Fisher was arrested on Thursday in Concord.

Medum Choe, a neighbor who’s lived in the same complex as Wong for two years, told SFGATE that he and other residents were shocked by her death. Wong worked as a product designer at Plaid, an SF-based payment platform company. Choe said she was “extremely bright and outgoing.”

“We’re in the state of shock for the last couple weeks. What happened is a real tragedy,” Choe said. “We’re glad that the suspect has been apprehended and that hopefully this is the beginning to a road to get justice for Kimberly.”

If convicted, Fisher could face 26 years in state prison, the DA’s office said. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday afternoon.
