I treat each patient and family as I would want myself or any member of my family to be treated. I often tell families that my job is to give them the truth and to walk with them every step of the way.
It is a privilege to work with families of critically ill newborns, during what is often the most difficult time of their lives. I find it incredibly rewarding to care for a truly sick newborn and help families learn what it means to take their baby home and treat them like "a normal baby" for the first time.
I take great pride in working with an exceptional team and caring for some truly amazing families. Even in the hardest moments of my job, I am continually humbled by what I can learn from the families we work with. Every delivery and newborn is a miracle that I am lucky to be a part of.
