Maurice Druzin, MD

  • Maurice Druzin
  • “Helping women deliver their children is one of the most rewarding and gratifying experiences in the world.”

My sub-specialty is high-risk obstetrics, which I've been practicing for over 30 years. I deliver babies, teach and am involved in clinical research. These activities have allowed me to enjoy a fulfilling professional career.

My profession deals with one of the most important aspects of peoples lives — their children. It's very gratifying to meet patients in the store with their lovely child whom I helped deliver. One patient who had a very unusual syndrome with eight pregnancy losses was referred to me when I was still at Cornell. For that family, delivering their baby was a dramatic moment. She calls me every year on her child's birthday; he's now 22. My approach is straightforward, yet I am sensitive to the profound stress the patients and their families are undergoing. I am compassionate and understanding of the human condition to help them through one of the most important and intimate human experiences — giving birth to a child and having a family.
