The Community Policing Self-Assessment Tool (CP-SAT) is a web-based agency-wide survey that helps law enforcement agencies (LEAs) measure their progress in implementing community policing and captures information about community partnerships, problem solving, and organizational impact. Upon completion of the CP-SAT, agencies are provided a CP-SAT Results Report, which summarizes their confidential results in a user-friendly format. The CP-SAT results and related resources may be used to help support strategic planning, identify a list of training needs, and promote the agency's community policing successes to the public and governing officials.
The following is a list of community policing resources that are available to support LEAs in addressing and enhancing their community policing efforts based on the identification of community policing strengths and areas for improvement, as noted in their agency-specific CP-SAT Results Report.
These resources provide information related to developing, maintaining, and enhancing collaborative partnerships between the law enforcement agency and the individuals and organizations they serve to develop solutions to problems and increase trust in police.
These publications provide information to help develop and implement a process to engage in the proactive and systematic examination of identified problems to develop effective responses that are evaluated rigorously.
The resources listed will help agencies identify strategies to align organizational management, structure, personnel, and information systems to support community partnerships and proactive problem solving.
Information related to the Community Policing Self-Assessment Tool (CP-SAT) is available on the Community Policing Self-Assessment page.
