Applying for Aid
Requirements and Deadlines
To apply for aid, you will need to complete the following required forms:
- Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) — A web-based application provided by the U.S. Department of Education
- Graduate Application — Stanford’s institutional application.
Please be careful to complete the correct versions of these forms based on the time period for which you are requesting student loans for federal Work-Study funding through your department. Use the following chart to find the appropriate versions and procedures:

Application requirements and deadlines for Summer 2016 will be posted on this page by May 1, 2016. Application requirements and deadlines for academic year 2016-17 will be posted on this page by March 1, 2016.
You can expect to receive notification of availability of an award letter at your Stanford email address within 6 to 8 weeks of completing all application requirements. You can track your status and award information on Axess.
