Mike, I have a daughter your age (20), I'm grateful
for our sacrafices, and know you are with God. I
wish and pray for peace for your family. As a Viet Nam
veteran, "I know", as a Marine we are truly brothers Michael.
Grant us all the peace and tolerance to make this planet
a better place so other Michael's will not have to make
the ultimate sacrifice. Semper Fi!

I was in Mike's class at BHS. I can recall the shock and sadness I felt when I learned he had died in Viet Nam.

I was a classmate of Mike's at Berkeley high school. We shared some classes together and had a good time before and after classes. Mike was with us for too short a time. He is remembered and missed by many.

I was trying to search for Civil War Vets, looking for a James Knox Hare, and the search matched the James and the Hare. Family of Michael James Hare, I am researching Hares from the Marysville area from about the 1860-on. If your grandfather or greatgrandfather etc, lived near Marysville, Ca during that time, we are distant cousins. Respond if you'd like, we know very little about other branches of Hares.

I remember Michael from public Speaking class, Mr. Ehlers... I also remember the awesome football player and genuine nice guy. Michael was a "bright light" in life. I am greatful for his sacrifice to this county. May he rest in peace. I will always carry his memory with me. Sincerely, Terry Brownlo

I many happy, funny memories of being your cousin. You'll always be a smiling, handsome young man in my memory. I remember the tour of Berkeley you gave me in 1964, our last time together that I can remember. I hope you'll give me a tour when I get where you are. I miss you.

I knew Mike from Berkeley through Jeff Shaeffer, the Athenians, and football. I played center the year after him. He helped prepare our junior team for a championship season the next year. I joined the Eunoias but was impressed by Mike during
Rush. He was tough and strong and I feel let down that I couldn't get to know him better. You and alot of other people will be remembered, Mike. See ya sometime, Jim
