Sonal Shah is the Senior Director of Compliance and Ethics for Stanford University and works under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Audit, Compliance and Privacy, Rick Moyer. She is responsible for developing and maintaining an effective compliance program at Stanford University, conducting risk assessments and performing investigations.
Prior to Stanford, Sonal has held various leadership and management roles in Internal Audit, Compliance, Risk and Privacy at Harvard University School of Dental Medicine, Hartford HealthCare, Tufts Medical Center, Landmark Medical Center, Yale New Haven Health Services and Aetna.
Sonal received her Master of Science in Professional Accounting (MSPA) from the University of Hartford, Connecticut and her Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from M.S. University, India. Sonal is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is also Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC). She has completed the Dale Carnegie Course aimed at improving communication and leadership skills. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA), the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) and the New England Compliance Officers Forum. She has been a speaker at conferences on topics in Internal Audit and Compliance.
