Abigail Droge is a third year English PhD candidate at Stanford University with a focus in nineteenth-century British literature. Her research interests include the theory of the novel, book history and reading practices, the city novel, realism, socio-historical criticism, science and fiction, and pedagogy. She has taught as a teaching assistant for The Development of the Short Story, and as the stand-alone instructor for the Stanford Program of Writing and Rhetoric. She is currently a Teagle Fellow, a Teaching Assistant for Bing Honors College, and a Course Development Assistant for Freshman and Sophomore Programs. Abigail also serves on the English Department Pedagogy Committee and worked collaboratively to research, design, and institute a new suite of required, writing-intensive undergraduate courses in the English Department, to be taught by graduate students out of their own research.
