The Oxford Art Online, as the title suggests, is the premier resource for beginning your art and architecture research. ARTSTOR is an encylopedic database of images which you can download. The third tool is also excellent and is multidisciplinary in nature.

Oxford art online
Provides access to Grove Art Online, The Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, The Oxford Companion to Western Art, and The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms. 
ARTSTOR
Searchable database of more than 300,000 images applicable different times, cultures, and disciplines. Combination of images, data, and texts provides comprehensive art-related teaching, learning, and researching capabilities. Can view and analyze images through features such as zooming and panning. Register for a free account to download images and data.
Blackwell reference online
Provides full-text access to reference works in the humanities, social sciences, and business and management. It supports browsing and full-text searching.

Suggested art and music databases (From SearchWorks)

Art full text
Provides access to journal articles. It covers the arts of all time periods and all cultures. Publication dates range from 1984 to current. Citations include abstracts.
Art retrospective
Art Retrospective is produced by the same publisher as Art Full Text and covers the journal literature of art history from 1929 to 1984. Like Art Full Text, it covers art of all time periods and cultures.
Artbibliographies modern (ABM)
ABM focuses on modern and contemporary art (the mid-19th century to the present). Photography is especially well covered. Publication types include journal articles, book reviews, essays within collected works, exhibition catalogs, and more. Publication dates go back to the mid-1960s.
Bibliography of the History of Art (BHA)
Covering arts from late antiquity (Greek, Roman) to the present, and especially useful for art from Medieval times onward, BHA includes citations for journal articles, book reviews, essays within collected works, exhibition catalogs, dissertations, and more. Publication dates range from the early 1970s to 2007. For more recently published literature, search the International Bibliography of Art.
International bibliography of Art (IBA)
In terms of publication, IBA continues where BHA stops, with good coverage of art from late antiquity to the present.
AnthropologyPlus
Good resource for finding citations on African, Oceanic, and Native American arts in the journal literature of anthropology and related disciplines. It includes publications from the 19th century to the present.
Streaming media
Select from a wide variety of audio and video databases for music and performance which include jazz, classical, world music, opera, ballet and more.
